A Fluid Expression of Nature’s Beauty: Silk Art by Wendy Lee

July 10, 2019 to October 27, 2019
Opening Reception: Saturday, July 13, 2019  from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Winnipeg’s premiere silk painting artist Wendy Lee launches an exhibition of her large silk paintings at the Assiniboine Park Pavilion Community Gallery.

Known for her beautiful hand painted silk scarves as wearable art, Wendy’s new show features large framed silk paintings, using the traditional Asian technique of painting on silk. The gorgeous detail and colours of Wendy’s art features Manitoba-themed flora and fauna, including butterflies, dragonflies, polar bears, and prairie scenes. Originally from Toronto, Wendy has lived and worked all over North America - from Yellowknife to New Mexico.  For the past 14 years, Wendy has made Winnipeg her home, selling her Silk Winds art through various outlets throughout Canada, including the WAG Shops, Teekca’s Boutique, Fort Whyte, and Assiniboine Park Zoo.
