Water Wise Garden

The Water Wise Garden in the Mayor's Grove, presented by RBC, opened on June 19, 2015, in conjunction Canada's Garden Day. The garden, which is located just East of the Assiniboine Park Pavilion, features over 500 water wise trees and plants and will play an integral role in the Park's education programs and no doubt be an attraction for the 4.5 million people that visit Assiniboine Park each year.

Through support from RBC, the entire Mayor's Grove space has been rejuvenated with new pathways, interpretive signage, and the addition of new trees and plants, transforming it into a water wise garden. Key to creating a water wise garden is choosing the right plants and mulch for the right place to maximize the efficiency of water usage so the plants can then live on the resources available.
